The hospital has computerized and digital x-ray units allowing us to obtain radiographs of high diagnostic quality. In addition to computerized radiography we have digital radiography which produces high quality images that allow computerized enhancement of detail in specific areas of interest. Digital images are able to be viewed on a monitor and can also be printed or burned to CD to keep on file or sent to the referring veterinarian. We have a specially designed radiology room with a track in the ceiling allowing the large x-ray unit to be moved to almost any position around the horse, lessening the amount of stress to the patient. This large unit gives us the ability to radiograph the abdomen, thorax, lumbar spines, and more, that small x-ray machines are unable to penetrate radiographically.
