Now available to inpatients and haul-ins, Mobile Equine Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (MEHOT) has relocated their operations to San Luis Rey Equine Hospital. The MEHOT center is the first mobile air-pressurized equine hyperbaric chamber in the world. It is built to the same specifications as human hyperbaric chambers at world-class facilities such as the Mayo Clinic.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy benefits a multitude of cases to include fractures, soft tissue injuries such as suspensory ligament desmitis or tendonitis, joint infections, wounds, respiratory disease, gastric ulcers, and post-operative colics, just to name a few. It can also be effective in helping to aid recovery after strenuous activity such as racing, jumping, cross-country or endurance workouts.
