Michelle was raised in the northeast where she enjoyed hunter pacing, eventing her Irish sport horse, and skiing. She attended undergraduate studies in mathematics at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where she competed with the equitation team, alpine ski racing team, and also tried her hand at polo for a few semesters. Following her undergraduate degree, Michelle was a working student for a dressage trainer competing on the FEI circuit in NY and FL.
Michelle received her veterinary degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where she continued to ride and compete with the university team as well as for a local charity riding organization for the disabled. While studying, she volunteered at an equid hospital in Morocco and has since had a keen interest in emergency medicine and field surgery in addition to her ongoing passion for sports medicine. In her last semester of vet school, she organized and ran a student education conference for vet schools across 15 countries covering topics of medicine, orthopaedics, practice in the third world, and emergency medicine. In her free time she likes to cook, sing, ride, travel, and soak up the sun.
