Maria Bros Pont, BVM
Maria was born and raised in north-east Spain and she obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2015. While studying she was teaching horse riding and show jumping. After her degree and to gain more experience, she did a traineeship at Rood and Riddle, then completed 3 months of externships around Canada and California. After returning, she worked for 5 months in the south of France in an equine hospital. Her main interests in veterinary medicine are orthopedics and sport horses. In her free time she enjoys horse riding, playing guitar and exploring nature.
Julieta Fernandez, BVM
Julieta was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from Universidad del Salvador in Argentina in 2014. After graduating, she worked in an equine hospital for 1 year and then moved to Kentucky where she did a traineeship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. After that, she returned to work in a equine hospital in Argentina for a few months before starting the internship. In her free time Julieta enjoys traveling, horseback riding and hiking as well as spending time with her friends and family.
Jorge Luis Sanclemente, M.V.Z.
Jorge graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine and zootechnia from Universidad de Caldas in 2013. During school, he did a three month externship at Washington State University. After graduating, he started working as a field practitioner with Colombian Creole horses in Colombia for four years, doing artificial insemination, field surgeries and assisting a surgeon with lameness exams. After completing his internship at SLREH, his goal is to complete an equine surgery residency.
Shane Stafford, MVB
Shane was born and raised in County Meath, Ireland and he obtained his degree in veterinary medicine from University College Dublin. Shane completed numerous externships in Ireland, Italy, Belgium and the east coast of the United States. Shane is passionate about national hunt and flat racing and loves working with Thoroughbreds. His main interests are lameness and diagnostic imaging. Outside of veterinary medicine, Shane is a sport fanatic and plays rugby, hurling and Gaelic football. When he has time off he enjoys going to the races, camping and attending music festivals.
