The devastating “Lilac Fire” hit Bonsall and the surrounding area, leading to evacuation of not only people but the large number of horses based at the San Luis Rey Downs. Even the patients at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital had to be evacuated. The teams from the hospital and Trifecta Equine Athletic Center worked around the clock rescuing and caring for these horses affected by the fire.
